In the 1960s many United States Army Reserve Centers and National Guard Armories were built in the middle of small communities. In 50 years time, these communities have drastically grown and changed. In the past, many people’s idea of community extended only as far as their neighborhood. Today, many of us think on a much larger scale and view the entire northwest as our community. We found out that there are many in our community who would like to participate in an event which integrates the smaller community with the many Patriots from the northwest with whom we live, work and socialize.

In honor of two local United States Army Reserve Centers that have closed this year, we would like thank you for participating in the inaugural 5k race in honor of two Patriots from our local community: Jerome F. Sears and Alfred E. Sharff.
